ISO 14000 is a series of international standards on environmental management. It provides a framework for the development of an environmental management system and the supporting audit program

ISO 14000 is similar to ISO 9000 quality management in that both pertain to the process (the comprehensive outcome of how a product is produced) rather than to the product itself. The overall idea is to establish an organized approach to systematically reduce the impact of the environmental aspects which an organization can control.

OHSAS    

OHSAS 18000 refers to a series of standards for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems. It comprises two parts, 18001 and 18002 and embraces BS8800 and a number of other publications.

OHSAS 18001 has been developed to be compatible with the ISO 9001 (Quality) and ISO 14001 (Environmental) management systems standards, in order to facilitate the integration of quality, environmental and occupational health and safety management systems by organizations, should they wish to do so.
